Please note this is a digital product. You are buying the pattern to make a cactus. It is not a physical product.

This is a simple pattern for Clara the Cactus. She is a simple make and requires DK yarn, I have used Sirdar Happy Chenille but she look great in acrylic or cotton too.

Clara the Cactus stands 10cm (4”) tall and is 6.5cm (2.5”) at the widest part.

Yarn substitutions: I have made many of these now, and have mostly been using Sirdar Happy Chenille but this might not be nice to work with if you have sensory issues. I have found and DK yarn works well, Clara looks particurly good in cotton yarn.

You will need:
Yarn A: Sirdar Happy Chenille in 0029 Fizzy (DK, 38m, 15g)
Yarn B: Sirdar Happy Chenille in 0028 Teddy (DK, 38m, 15g)
Yarn C: Sirdar Happy Chenille in 0032 Tutti Frutti (DK, 38m, 15g)
Yarn D: Sirdar Happy Chenille in 0024 Party (DK, 38m, 15g)
3.5mm Hook
Darning needle
Toy stuffing – approximately 20g
Small toy eyes x2 – I have used 5mm black safety eyes. (Optional)
Hot Glue Gun (Optional)

Tension: Not important for this item, although if you are a loose crocheter you may benefit from going down a hook size so finished item does not show the stuffing.

Stitches used:
blo = Back loop only
ch = Chain
hdc = Half double crochet
sc = Single crochet
sl-st = Slip Stitch
tog = Together (decrease stitch)
tr = Treble crochet

Pattern notes: Written in US terms. Beginning chain does not count as a stitch throughout. The mud ball is worked in a spiral. The pot is worked in both the spiral and the round.

This pattern has been tech edited.

Care Instructions

The material the item is made from will be in the desciption above.

Acrylic yarn items can be washed on a gental machine cycle.

Alpaca or wool mix items should be washed by hand only. Using the washing machine may result in the item shrinking.

PomPoms should be removed from the items before washing. The are held on by a button. Just untie the yarn bow you can see and remove the button, and then the pompom.

If your pompom gets wet in the rain, just give it a blast with a hairdrier to fluff it up again.
